Concerning forgiveness

A friend recently gifted me with a new journal. On the front of this spiral bound blue book is a photo of a purple-pink adirondack chair on the edge of the ocean overlooking clear, clear water. And the most well-known portion of the serenity prayer is found there, too, because my friend knows I find serenity in writing and also that this prayer is meaningful to me:

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference. -- Reinhold Niebuhr

Because I already have two journals "going" I won't be writing in this new one yet, but I've opened the pages and flipped through them, just to enjoy the heavy, smooth paper. And to see if the pages were lined or not. Inside I found another surprise discovery. There are additional quotes on random pages throughout the book! This one stood out to me and I thought I'd share. Maybe someone reading this will find it as beneficial as I am:

Forgiveness is a way of life that gradually transforms us from being helpless victims of our circumstances to being powerful and loving co-creators of our reality. -- Robin Casarjian

P.S. The pages are lined.
