If you're in High Point this afternoon, you should stop by and see me! Whether you're there for the High Point International Home Furnishings Market (or "Market," for you locals,) or otherwise, it'd be a hoot to say hello.
Gifts Like Nothing Else has set up a table so their customers can see what goes on behind-the-scenes in making the (my!) necklaces you'll find when you visit their shop this week. (That's at 112 E. Kivett Drive.) So at about 2:30 or so, I'll have some beads and scads of plain-old-pendants (those just waiting for embellishment!) and wire and even my little hammer. Ooh...and a laptop where you can join me in watching, just one time too many, the lovely bit of PR that was my honor when Roy's Folks had me on their show at the end of January.
In addition to monogrammed purses and other gift items, you can also find some other neat one-of-a-kind items made by local artists, Marcy Reid-Smith and Margot Horney. The mosaic mirror seen here is Marcy's (it's no longer available, but Gifts Like Nothing Else has several of her newer pieces,) and the stained glass business card holder is also not available (sorry - this is the one I bought, way back,) but they also have lots of her recent pieces!
I was there on Sunday, and since Market was just starting to gear up, I'm keen to know what today's going to be like. We had fun that day, and I met such interesting people. Hopefully today will be more of the same. Guess I'd better go finish getting ready so I can meet you there if you do happen to stop in. Hope you will! (And if not, I'll be back later this week. I'll post a follow-up here once we've scheduled the time for sure.)
