Little discovery this week. When you have a blog and you typically write in it every day or so, then you "take an unplanned break," it's really hard to sit down and write something of quality. That's how it seems to me, anyway, after this week's little disappearing act. (Consider yourself warned; the following is really just me sayin' hi and making sure my regular readers know I'm alive.)
When Attention Deficit Disorder is a part of your life, it's sometimes easy to let yourself get caught up in the fun of (fill in the blank with whatever's going on at the moment,) and just ignore anything that hints of work. And although writing in my blog isn't work, per se, I do categorize it closer to work than, say, seeing movies with friends.
Hm. See what I mean? Nobody wants to hear my rant about how hard it is to find a decent subject after taking a blogging hiatus. Sorry. Not gonna' dish. But I'll share some highlights and perhaps soon we can return to our regularly scheduled pattern of me writing intriguing, witty, insightful pieces about those things I encounter, and my regular readers can rejoice in the knowledge that I won't disappear again. Maybe...
- 'Birthday season' just started, which means I've spent some delicious time with my sister and family and some friends.
- And I'm once again reminded of how many amazing people fill my life, how good that life is, and how much I have to be grateful for.
- Not only that, I sometimes just enjoy blowing off all semblance of responsibility. When that happens, I laugh more and respond to invitations with more sponteneity and eat at more interesting restaurants and pet new and interesting pets I never met before, and generally act like I'm 18 again and don't have any responsibilities.
