Yesterday afternoon while I was working on a (still behind the scenes) website update for this site, I noticed my Google Page Rank was 4. As opposed to 0 as it is right now. If you didn't catch the last writeup about my saga to figure out why this site is intermittently ranked 4 then 0 then 0 then 4, and so on and so forth, you can refresh your memory over here.
This morning when I found it at four again, I felt a little shiver of giddiness. Maybe I'm not doomed to live with the oddly shameful weight of that zero forever. Then I took a gamble, refreshed my browser and it was gone.
But it left me with a little curiosity, so - as before - I pulled up my bookmarked link to a search of my domain in SEO Chat's Future PageRank query page. The discerning eye will notice that their description reads "Usually all data centers will output the same, but if queried during an update, you might get a glimpse of any upcoming changes in your chosen URL's PageRank value." Well, MY SITE'S stats seem to always be in update mode. As the output is decidedly not the same. But we're getting better. Whereas the last time I rambled on about it in my blog, all the data centers said zero except for one which declared my site to carry a rank, of course, of four.
La la la, le le le! This time, five of the data centers rank it at 4, instead of 1. Also, because of this seeming increase, I find my page rank at 4 on days that are not Sunday afternoons as I mentioned in that last blog entry. Clearly this makes me happy. I'm sitting here with wet drippy hair, fully dressed but most certainly not "ready to go" and I need to be leaving the house within 15 minutes or so. Sheesh.
Anyway, I can't any longer declare that I'm researching the issue. I did a bunch of research then blogged about it, then stopped. Life gets in the way, and who's got time to relentlessly pursue the origin of Google's Ways? Certainly not me. But I'm taking the time to write about it, nonetheless, and hopefully next time you hear me going on and on about it, it'll be because it's continued to increase and one day the page rank will be a solid 4. At which time I will, no doubt, work to increase it to 5...and so on, and so forth.
Happy Heart Day! If you're into that kind of stuff.
