schedule of festivals & shows
Okay, so it's finally time for some big changes. I have participated in many, many exciting events where people purchased my jewelry. Just had another great fun one on November 8. And now? I'm done. It's true, I was scheduled to participate in a couple more events, among them the hugemongous Roy's Folks Craft Show. But I'm not now. Emailed them this morning and said so. Did the same thing concerning the show sponsored by the GTCC Foundation where I used to work.
Making jewelry has been an amazing part of my life. There are times when I pour myself into these activities, bending and hammering wire, glazing clay, selecting beads 'til my heart's content. But lately? It's become way too much like something I have to do, rather than what I want to do. Plus? How many careers can one woman have?
What I'd really like to do is pour myself into learning some really amazing new web design skills and becoming really good at that. I want to know more and more about Squarespace, and learn to better articulate why I think this company matters a great deal. And I'd like to enjoy making jewelry again.
So? No more shows. The people I know who love my jewelry already know how to find me. And there's quite a lot left in my inventory. I pretty well have dropped the ball on making sure people see my work on Etsy, but I'd love to change that, too. I don't know how much time I'll be putting into that, but maybe now that I've decided to free up the part of my brain that's devoted to "the old ways" of marketing my jewelry - shows and galleries and boutiques - I'll have less resistance to doing just that.
Until then, if you're interested in seeing what I have, just email me and tell me what you're looking for. Maybe you see a photo somewhere on my site that you like, or that reminds you of something you're interested in seeing more of. Just let me know what you like, and I'll see what I have! And as I make progress on the Etsy front - whether soon or later - I'll update this page and tell you all about it.
Yea, I'll probably blog about it, too. 'Cause that's what I do. But it was important to announce my decision immediately, since I've been advertising these shows for a while now.
Cheers! Thanks for visiting...
