Not the most useful thing you'll read today
This is for all you readers who have checked in to ask "Whassup? Why's the blog so sparse?" Five lessons, in no particular order, that I've learned, relearned, or just recalled on this particular Tuesday okay, fine, Wednesday morning:

Today, having received two emails within minutes of each other - from two different people - I found myself momentarily confused. It took a while to realize the confusion occurred (when I went back to reread something in one of them, and opened the wrong one,) because their subject lines were so similar to each other. That got me thinking about how useful a well-crafted subject line can be.
It IS complicated, too...

Clever packaging gets me every time. I think it was Cindi who said, sometime in our early twenties, "You are such a marketer's dream." She was right of course; it's still true. I prefer to think now that my likelihood to succumb to the marketing gimmicks has become more refined in the years since. More sophisticated and aware. Evidence here suggests maybe not so much.
So comfortable in her own skin
There's a woman who lives in my town. If we had to label, I guess you'd say we're friendly acquaintances. Sometimes we read each other's blogs.
