Just a bit of simple gratitude and happiness

Saturday, 22 March, 2008 at 11:11 AM Today for your reading pleasure I have nothing witty or clever to tell you. I don't feel like recounting one of the many stories running through my head that I've been collecting for future blog posts. I'm sure at least some of you are glad, too, that I'll refrain from telling you even more about how adorable - albeit increasingly naughty on occasion - I find my nephew to be and how glad I am that I'll be seeing him in an hour or so. I won't tell you about the fun barbecue I went to last night, and I won't go on and on about all the things I need to accomplish and how that list isn't getting quite as short as fast as it needs to.
Instead I just want to write an ordinary post about happiness. I'm happy. I have a good life, and many, many things to be thankful for. I won't recount them here. No lists, like I thought I might make when I started. Just a simple bit to tell you that I'm feeling really, really good today, in spite of all the challenges that naturally also exist, side by side, with the highlights.
It's important to sit still sometimes and breathe deeply and remember why life is a gift. I'm doing that now. And thought I'd tell you...

Girl, you've successfully given me chills today. Yes, life is a completely wonderful thing, isn't it? And nice sometimes, to just "Be Still and Know."
A great friend of mine sent me a link to this: Alice Peacock (http://www.alicepeacock.com/). I'm hoping she comes to our area! I'd love to see her in person!
To be still and know. What a wonderful idea. I remember Joel Osteen saying "you have to be grateful for the gifts God has already given you before you can expect anything more." So today I will be grateful and tell God so. Just in case you were wondering dear friend, YOU"RE on the list of gifts I will be thanking God for. Happy Easter.
Thank you both for commenting.
Lizzy: chills, even? Cool! And pretty voice!
Tamara, Happy Easter and many thanks for you too... Starting my week with warm, fuzzy smiles. :)
