In which supermarket flirting is a highlight

Wondering what it says about my routine when one of the highlights of my day is when the person ringing up my peaches and cashews at the supermarket flirts with me. And I enjoy it. In spite of the fact that he's quite literally of the age that he could have been my offspring (biologically speaking,) if my life had taken that turn. In spite of the fact that he flirted equally with the nine year old blonde ahead of me. In spite of the fact that he took a bit of the edge off when he called me ma'am when he told me goodbye.

They tell me we're supposed to take the good with the, er, less favorable.

Sounds like a healthy choice to me...

It counts. All flirting counts. He obviously was enamored of you and hid his weighty and overwhelming emotions under a "ma'am" in a last, desperate bid to gain your affections through an air or professionalism. (After 12 years of marriage, one becomes adept at reading the signs of romance in others). You cruel heartbreaker, you.
