On the loss of David Foster Wallace

It was almost exactly two years ago that I first discovered David Foster Wallace. I wrote a typically rambly post about him, and specifically A Supposedly Funny Thing I'll Never Do Again over here.

Sitting here 5 minutes ago, feeling a little witty, thinking about a little morning blogging, I got an email that he died on Friday night. Here's the AP story.

The wit is gone. I'm stunned. And so I'll merely say this man's writing was amazing, and it affected me a great deal. What a loss. Prayers for his family and friends and students.
