Longing and life

This quote is attributed to Anna Freud: "If some longing goes unmet, don't be astonished. We call that Life." I've been thinking about her words this morning. I don't know; maybe it's true. Maybe it's longing that moves us forward, trying more of the new or revisiting the familiar from new angles. It's the learning, growing, reaching that makes life interesting, right? I guess even when the longing carries frustration for the elusive, it's better than stagnating. Since longing and complacency feel completely at odds.

Yeah right. I really agree with you post. I admit that I have some issues with my own friend that is really better to be a part than to be with him. Longing but knowing the importance of realization really matter. Thanks for your post.
