And then he was 5...

And just like that, this amazing little baby turned into an amazing little boy. We had a sleepover on Saturday night, and all the fun that goes with that, and when I was exhausted and he was gone yesterday evening... I missed him. Again.

Last week, Mr. Pie turned 5. I mentioned that early-years nickname to him yesterday as we walked with his friend down a path by a lake, and he snickered in that way of his that's just a little too insightful and aware for any kid this age. And that's what I'm thinking about this morning: his insight and keen observational skills and the way he picks up on things I would have missed otherwise.

Instead of going on for days about the reasons I adore my nephew, I'll say, instead: Rami, I hope this coming year is amazing and filled with fun and wonder and love. Especially love...
